Advent Lessons and Carols

About this event

As part of the quiet reflection and joyful expectation that the yearly observance of Advent brings, this candlelit service of scripture, hymns, and anthems moves us from the creation story, to prophecy, to the coming of the Kingdom of God. The liturgy will be formed around the “O Antiphons,” seven ancient antiphons that are the basis for “O come, O come, Emmanuel.”

The St. Paul’s Ringers begin at 3:45 p.m. Chants, carols, and hymns are sung by the Senior, Youth, St. Cecilia and St. David Choirs. Congregational hymns feature prominently throughout the liturgy. The Nave will be decorated with a series of O Antiphon banners designed by Robyn Sand Anderson representing each Antiphon. The offering will benefit our non-profit community partners.
