Shedeur Sanders will start at quarterback for the Browns on Sunday in New Orleans

The Browns visit the Saints Sunday at 1 p.m.

  • Browns
    Saints
Sun., Nov. 8, 1 p.m.Browns are 5-3 and Saints are 2-5, at the Superdome.

If you're planning your Sunday around the Browns, here's who's under center. Todd Monken made it official Friday that Shedeur Sanders starts. Deshaun Watson is in concussion protocol, so the backup gets the nod.

  • Kickoff: Sunday, 1 p.m., on 19 News
  • Sanders last season: 3-4 as a starter, 7 TD passes, 10 interceptions
  • Saints defense: 28th in yards allowed per game (372.7)

Both teams have started slowly. The Browns have been outscored 65-13 in first quarters, the league's worst opening-quarter point differential, and the Saints have been outscored 44-6. Cleveland sits third in the AFC North behind Pittsburgh and Cincinnati. Sanders said he has seen "a lot" of video of the Saints defense, but he wouldn't say much more:

“When I smile, just know that means something.”
